I've spent about 60 years dealing with anti-ND anger

I understand it just fine. I have no interest in assuaging it. I am just saying that anyone who advocates ND taking a different position has no basis for it.

No one else in ND's position would do so.

If Virginia Tech were a football independent and ND a football conference member, I would understand Virginia Tech's position and not be "upset" with it looking out for the its own best interests.

It would not bother me at all.
